EcoTank exists to solve one problem: the cost of ink.

Instead of cartridges, these printers have refillable tanks you top up from bottles. The machine costs more to buy and considerably less to run, and the point at which it pays for itself arrives sooner than most people expect. How soon depends on your volumes, which is worth working out before you choose.

There is a second benefit that gets less attention. A set of bottles lasts a very long time, so nobody is reordering cartridges, nobody finds the cupboard empty, and the printer does not stop mid job. In a small office with no IT support, that is often worth more than the money saved.

Choose A4 for standard documents, correspondence and invoices. Choose A3 if you produce plans, spreadsheets, posters or anything you currently fold or shrink to fit.

One caveat before you buy. EcoTank rewards steady, predictable printing. If your volumes are low and irregular, a cartridge model may suit you better and cost less up front.
